Psalm 46:10 "Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."
In Hebrews 11:6, God reminds us to have faith. And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. My best friend, Andrea (Ms. Sunshine) text me earlier as I was driving back home to Memphis. She asked me how do I thank God for something if I'm not sure it's gonna happen. I reminded her of this verse. God wants to know that you believe Him not just in Him. I can say all day long that I know Jesus lives and died for me and rose again on the 3rd day in order for me to be saved from hell when I believe IN Him. It is entirely another story when God tells you about something He is going to bring about in your life and you have little to no faith that He is telling you the truth. God cannot and will not bless anything you don't first believe in yourself.
His word also tells us that if our faith is as tiny as a mustard seed, He will bless that little bit of faith. All He asks is for us to show that faith. Matthew 17:20 He replied, "Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you. These words were spoken by Jesus after He healed the little boy who was possessed by a demon.
I sometimes lack faith but I know who holds the future and I want Him to know that I believe everything He says He is going to do for me in my life. Without doubt (which gets me sometimes)I want to believe all He has for me. Don't you?
